I'm Lucy, a photographer, wife and mother of two young children.
Hello!
With an MA (Master of Arts) degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography, I have worked as a freelance photographer for over a decade, establishing my photographic practice in 2011. When my daughter Molly was born in 2017, I started photographing her in my home studio as she loves to dress up, use her imagination and pretend we are on great adventures. It was then that I branched out into children's portraits as I collected a variety of scenes, props and costumes in the Dress Up Box. My son Alfie was born in 2022 and we look forward to all the adventures yet to come.
The Studio
I work from my cosy home studio in the heart of Yateley, a peaceful town to the west of London, in the Hampshire countryside. It is easy to drive to with ample free driveway parking right outside. A lovely place for a day trip with traditional pubs and forest walks just a stones throw away. My studio uses flash lighting and has a variety of costumes and props to suit all our beautiful fabric backdrop scenes and notable occasions throughout the year.
I am continually expanding the Dress Up Box so welcome suggestions on what you would like to see. I am a mother of two young children so always have toys to hand to keep little ones and siblings entertained throughout the session. I have Public and Products Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
The Experience
Dress Up Box portrait sessions aim to be fun, interactive and enjoyable for everyone. We will chat, play music and use our imagination to immerse ourselves in whichever scene you choose, while I capture beautiful and creative photographs. All scenes are tangible fabric backdrops that we can engage with, no green screen here. In addition to creative and playful scenes I also photograph pure portraits and have simple neutral backdrops.
Of course please do come with your own outfits but you are welcome to borrow anything from the Dress Up Box for the photo session. When booking we can discuss what sizes I have available and what might work best for your chosen scene.
